The Spirit of the Anzac's

Hi Everyone, welcome to my very first blog, Im new to this so be kind.
What do you think about the Anzac Spirit. What it is exactly and how was it was forged. How would you define it or summerise it.

I have been involved with Anzac Day ever since I was a little kid and every year I would marvel at the bravery of our soldiers who risked it all and came back. I would also feel the depths of sorrow for the families that suffered the loss of loved ones. A strange and unawkward feeling of an overriding debt to people that I had never met before.

I guess the thing I love the most about the Anzac Spirit is the unwritten ethos or code of NEVER SAY DIE. An attitude of perserverance even under the most difficult and life threatening situations on earth. Where quitting was never an option only endurance to the very end no matter what the cost.

I guess when I think about perservering in life I think about how the Spirit of God helps us to also say NEVER SAY DIE. He is constantly there helping, guiding, nurturing and talking to us. The question for us is DO WE TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO HIM. I constantly hear people say I wish God would speak to me, I wish he would show me what to do with my life, I wish I wish I wish. If we dont take the time to listen then how can we hear.

The bible tells us that God is closer to us than a brother. Now I havent had any brothers I only had a sister and geographically speaking we were never close (always a few states away). However there is someone who is close to us who cares about every facet of our lives.

Take the time to listen to the Spirit of God daily, you may just be blown away by what you hear.

God bless you,

Andrew
